BRIGHT FUTURE & RESULTS

Economic Development

  • Attracted more than $3 Billion Dollars of new investment to Lebanon​

  • Attracted companies that have created more than 2500 new jobs with wages above the Boone County average. 

  • Focused on attracting good paying manufacturing jobs.

  • Strategically tailored economic development deals to target high paying jobs and targeted sectors.

  • Required all companies that receive tax abatements to annually report the number of employees, the percentage that are Boone County Residents, average non-salaried wages, and community involvement.

  • Working with developers to construct an entrepreneurial incubator to support start-up and small businesses.

  • Added more than 300 new homes to the City.

  • Welcomed new restaurants and retail options for residents and visitors

  • Driving continuous Downtown revitalization.

Public Safety

  • Increased Police Department force from 33 officers to 46 -an additional 13 Police Officers to better serve the community. 

  • Hired 12 additional Firefighters.

  • Supported the Lebanon School Corporation with funding to put a full-time School Resource Officer in every Lebanon School.

  • Significantly improved the Lebanon Police Department’s Investigations Unit by adding two full-time Crime Scene Investigators.

  • Adding an additional officer to the Drug Taskforce 

  • Adding an additional officer to the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce

  • Began using Body Cameras for the Lebanon Police Department to improve transparency and accountability for LPD and the community. 

  • Reduced violent crime in Lebanon every year since 2016 through proactive policing.

  • Increased minimum staffing on Fire apparatuses, which has improved emergency response capabilities.

  • Improved the City's ISO Fire Protection rating to a 3 putting them in the top 8% of Fire Departments in the nation. 

  • Engaging the faith based community to strengthen community relations with Public Safety.

  • Provided increased Mental Health Resources for Public Safety Officers

Financial Management

  • Decreased City property tax rates since taking office.

  • Delivered strongest City Financial position in decades.

  • Honestly balanced budgets for the last seven years.

  • Improved City Bond Rating.

  • Increased Rainy Day Fund to protect against economic downturn or City emergency.

  • Ensured healthy funds balances with strong reserves. 

  • Decreased property tax rate 3 times in last 4 years.

  • Never increased property tax rate.

Ethics & Transparency

  • Eliminated "pay to play" culture by not accepting campaign contributions from companies that provide services to the City.

  • Firms are selected by the quality and cost of their work, not because they gave a campaign contribution.

  • Ended the practice of no-bid contracts.

  • Keeping a campaign promise, vetoed a pay increase for elected officials.

  • Keeps salary frozen for the entire term.

  • Created a City Financial Transparency Portal where the public can easily view City spending.

  • All City meetings are live-streamed, recorded, and archived where the public can easily watch and view. 

  • Increased opportunity for public comment at meetings and encouraged engagement through open house events.

Community Development

  • Completed Downtown Revitalization project that replaced 75 year old underground infrastructure and created a pedestrian friendly environment that is the heart of our community.

  • The Downtown project did not raise taxes by one penny.

  • The Downtown project has increased private investment and interest in Lebanon, attracting more companies and restaurants.

  • Created the Lebanon Youth Council to engage the next generation in Lebanon’s future.

  • Completed construction of Lebanon Splash pad in Abner Longley Park.

  • Installed miles of new trails and sidewalks to connect our neighborhoods.

  • Completed construction of the Big 4 Trail through the City that will connect communities throughout Boone County and beyond.

  • Opened Boone County’s first public Dog Park.

  • Facilitated the development of the youth sports focused Hickory Junction Fieldhouse

  • Added new Lighting at Memorial Park to increase park safety

  • Built an All-Inclusive Playground so children of all abilities can enjoy our parks

  • Constructed new Pickleball Courts in Memorial and Abner Longley Park

  • Remediated and transforming the old City dump into Stone Eater Bike Park, a mountain bike park that will be a regional attraction.  

Infrastructure & Planning

  • Paved or reconstructed nearly half of the 100 miles of roads within Lebanon.

  • Taking a strategic approach that repairs the worst rated roads first, regardless of where they are in town.

  • Implemented a 5 year Capital Plan to fix and repair water infrastructure.

  • Made the largest investments to install and repair City sidewalks in generations. 

  • Improved cost-sharing plan to help property owners with the cost of sidewalk installation.

  • Increased City Code Enforcement. 

  • Added a City Engineer to ensure Lebanon has technical oversight of construction and infrastructure projects.

  • Constructed thousands of feet of new sidewalks.

  • Completed new Bridges on Witt Rd and Elmwood Dr
