MEET MATT

Leadership Delivering Results for Lebanon

I am running for Mayor because Lebanon's bright future is right in front of us. It is crucial that we have bold, knowledgeable, and capable leadership to ensure these community projects maximize the opportunity these historic investments offer. I believe that I am the right leader for this time in Lebanon's story. I continue to want Lebanon to be the best place in Indiana to raise a family, do business, and enjoy time with family and friends.  - Matt Gentry

I moved to a farm in the Lebanon area the summer before my senior year of High School. After graduating from Purdue University with degrees in Political Science and Economics, I bought my first home on Meridian Street near Memorial Park. I knew there was something special about our community and I wanted to be a part of it.

After graduation, I worked at the Indiana House of Representatives, learning the inner workings of State and Local government. I worked with State Representatives from all around Indiana and saw first hand what happens when communities have strategic plans for their future and what happens when they don't. I later joined a Lebanon-based consulting firm that works with clients all across Indiana. This reinforced my perspective that Lebanon had potential that just needed to be unlocked.

Since elected I have grown from a single energetic young professional to a married father of 2 boys.  My wife Abby and I have come to appreciate even more all that Lebanon has to offer with its small town feel, park amenities, and increased shopping and dining opportunities.

I ran for Mayor because I wanted to make a difference in my community. Lebanon needed a new strategic approach to prepare for our future. Since my election, working with City Council and staff, we have attracted world-class companies totaling nearly $3 Billion dollars in new investment and thousands of great paying jobs. We have improved public safety, completed the Big 4 trail through town, added park amenities, paved more than half of Lebanon’s roads, and built thousands of feet of sidewalks, all while continually balancing the City budget and decreasing Lebanon's property tax rate.

I am running for another term as Mayor because Lebanon's bright future is right in front of us. There are critical projects currently underway that are substantial opportunities impacting our city’s future.Lebanon is on the right track, and with your support we can keep things moving in the right direction toward our bright future.
